Hüseyin-Kenan Aydın was born in Pülümür, Turkey. He is a trade union secretary on the board of IG Metall, a German politician (Die Linke), and the second chairman of the Dersim Culture and History Centre.

Christian Gudehus, PD Dr phil., is a social scientist with a penchant for social and cultural psychology. From 2014 to2021, he was Editor in Chief of the journal Genocide Studies and Prevention. He is the editor of handbooks on memory and violence. Together with Pradeep Chakkarath, he has been editing the Journal of HARM as an open access publication since January 2022. At the same time, the first issue of Trauma Kultur Gesellschaft was published by Psychosozial-Verlag, which he founded together with colleagues from the clinical field, the social sciences and humanities. At the Ruhr University Bochum, he teaches and researches with a focus on collective violence, its conditions, its events and its consequences.

Yaşar Kaya has been volunteering for more than 25 years to archive information about the historical events in Dersim and make it available to the public. He advocates the recognition of the events in 1937-38 as genocide.

Ismail Küpeli, Dr phil, is a political scientist. He specialises in nationalism, statehood, and political violence. His work also focuses on racism and anti-Semitism. His dissertation Die kurdische Frage in der Türkei: Über die gewaltsame Durchsetzung von Nationalstaatlichkeit was published by Transcript Verlag in June 2022.
