Nira Yuval Davis ist seit 1994 Präsidentin des Research Committee 05 (Race, Ethnicity and Minority Relations) der International Sociological Association isa. Sie war als Wissenschaftlerin an vielen Universitäten zu Gast: Australien National University; Ben-Gurion University, Israel; University of Umea, Schweden, Tel Aviv University, Israel. Ihr Buch Gender and Nation (Sage, 1997) wurde in sieben Sprachen übersetzt (Deutsch, Kroatisch, Mazedonisch, Ungarisch, Rumänisch, Russisch, Spanisch und Türkisch). Sie ist Mitherausgeberin der Reihe Politics and the State, Routledge, von Ethnicities (UK), Hagar (Israel), South Asian Bulletin (USA) und im wissenschaftlichen Beirat von Das Argument (BRD).
Darüber hinaus hat sie einen Beitrag zu der CD-Rom "Denkverhältnisse. Ansätze und Strategien feministischer Erkenntniskritik" (Autorinnen: Petra Gehring, Cornelia Klinger, Gudrun-Axeli Knapp und Mona Singer) von Vings Hannover geleistet. Diese CD ist Grundlage eines Vings-Online-Seminars. Nira Yuval-Davis reflektiert in ihrem Beitrag den Zusammenhang zwischen Lebensgeschichte, gesellschaftlichen Kontextbedingungen und wissenschaftlichem Problembezug.
Forschungsschwerpunkte: Nationalismus, Rassismus und Geschlechterverhältnisse; Staatsbürgerschaft u. Citizenship; Identitäten und Politics of Belonging; Siedler-Gesellschaften.
