Data Privacy Policy (GDPR)

In the following, we will inform you about the processing of personal Data when using the website sowi.rub.de. Personal data are all data that can be referring to you. On other websites of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, there can be other conditions.

The responsible organization for the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the federal state data protection law NRW is the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Universitätsstr. 150, 44780 Bochum, executive: dean’s office of social science.
 

Description and extent of data processing

With every visit of our web page, data of the visiting computer is necessary to provide information. Hereby, the following data is processed:

  • Information about the type of browser and the used version
  • The operating system of the user
  • The IP-address of the user, which is being anonymized right after successful provision of the information.
  • Date and time of the access
  • Websites leading to our page and are linked to the system of the user

The anonymized data will also be saved in the log files of our system. In this process, no personal data of the user is saved.

The process of the data is necessary for the provision of the website. Therefore, the user has no possibility to appeal.

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are data that are saved in the internet browser through the system. We use cookies to obtain the language preference of the user. We do not identifying cookies.

YouTube

For our internet presence, we use YouTube. This is a video portal of the YouTube LLC., 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, in the following only referred to as “YouTube”. YouTube is a subsidiary company of der Google LLC., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, in the following only referred to as “Google”. Through the certification of the EU-US Privacy Shield. https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active gguarantees Google and therefore its subsidiary company YouTube that the privacy policy of the EU is also complied when processing Data in the USA. We use YouTube in connection with the function “expanded privacy policy mode” to display videos (Art. 6 Abs 1 lift. DSVGO). Our legitimate interest exists to have an improvement in quality for our internet presence. According to YouTube, the function “expanded privacy policy mode” effects that data is only processed when you actually started the video. Without the “expanded policy mode”, the data is processed in the USA, when a YouTube-Video is embedded and not started. This connection is necessary to display the video on our website through your internet browser. In the course of this, YouTube uses at least your IP-address, the date and time as well as your visited website to capture and process your data. In addition, a connection to the google advertising network “DoubleClick” is established. If you are logged in to your YouTube account at that time, YouTube will simultaneously assign your connection details to your YouTube account. If you want to avoid that, you will have to log out from YouTube while visiting the website. YouTube constantly saves cookies through your Internet-Browser on your terminal device for the purpose of functionality as well as analysis of user behavior. Usage of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API, to visualise geographical information. During the usage of Google Maps, Google also processes data about the usage of the map function of users. You can find further information about the data processing of Google in Google’sdata privacy statements. There you can change your personal privacy policy settings in the privacy policy centre.

You rights as affected person

If your personal data is processed, you are affected as laid down in (GDPR) and following rights are entitled to you: You can demand a confirmation if personal data that concerns you is processed. If a processing is present, you can receive information about the purpose, the data, the origin of data, the recipient of data (incl. international transfer) as well as saving length. You have the right to have your data deleted, if they are inaccurate or incomplete. Under certain circumstances, you have the right to have your data deleted or the processing of data restricted. Especially data that you stated voluntarily have to be deleted. If data was transferred already, the solution is also concerning the recipients of data. We will inform the recipients of your data.
