Dear members of the Faculty of Social Science,
on this website you will find assistance, tips and information for your daily work at the faculty.
The first and most important step in actively practicing data protection is to first develop a sense of when you are actually coming into contact with data protection issues.
Most data protection breaches do not happen intentionally or on purpose, but out of carelessness.
Actively asking oneself before an activity whether action is required at this point helps to develop "awareness" of the topic in everyday life and to avoid unintentionally committing a data protection violation.
One such question would be:
Have I actually asked my employees whether they agree to their photos appearing on my website under "Team"?
If not, there is a corresponding consent form.

The topic of data protection is very extensive and is not limited to the digital realm, but also to very analog issues, such as closing one's own office door.
The website of the university's data protection representative offers a wide range of information on this topic.
Among other things:
There is detailed information and handouts on this topic on the central websites on data protection.
