Prof. Heidi Gottfried, Ph.D. - Marie Jahoda Visiting Professor - Winter term 2000/2001

Heidi Gottfried is a researcher and lecturer at the College of Urban, Labor and Metropolitan Affairs at Wayne State University, USA and received her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, USA, in 1987. Since 2002 she has been managing director of the Labor and Labor Movements section of the American Sociological Association. She was also granted a research fellowship to examine employment in the new economy by the Upjohn Institute, USA in 2002. Furthermore, Gottfried received a research fellowship for her work in the area of globalisation, gender and work in an aging society from the Japan Foundation. She is co-editor of the journals Policy Studies Review, Gender & Society, Contemporary Sociology and Social Problems.
