The Marie Jahoda Visiting Professorship, which was founded to promote international academic exchanges on gender, was inaugurated in 1994 with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. With a long-standing partnership of seven academic chairs, the Ruhr University of Bochum offers a unique and dynamic academic environment for studies on gender. The research and teaching focus of the Marie Jahoda Visiting Professorship is expected to intersect with at least one focal theme of the gender studies board of directors.
