Professional development

The Faculty of Social Science welcomes the employees of our partner universities to complete a staff mobility for training at the Ruhr University Bochum. The mobility period depends on the capacity of the corresponding unit at the Faculty and can last from 2 days till 2 months.

 

Possible forms of mobility:

  • Hospitations
  • Job Shadowing
  • Study visits
  • Development of the curriculum
  • Workshops and Seminars
  • Language courses

 

Funding

ERASMUS programme provides flat-rate payments for accomodation and travel expenses, support in organization of the mobility as well as additional funding for persons with children and persons with disabilities.

The funding includes 120 EUR per day until the 14th day of the mobility and 84 EUR per day for the days 15-60.  

 

For the travel costs a flat-rate is calculated according to the distance:

 

<100 km - no payment

100 km – 499 km - 180 Euro

500 km – 1.999 km - 275 Euro

2.000 km – 2.999 km - 360 Euro

3.000 km – 3.999 km - 530 Euro

4.000 km – 7.999 km - 820 Euro

8.000 km and more - 1.100 Euro

 

Participants with disabilities and those who have children get additional funding.

 

Application and formalities

Prospective participants apply directly at the International Office of their Home institution with a "Mobility Agreement".

 

Our ERASMUS coordinator provides support in setting up the Mobility Agreement and organizing the mobility. Please apply early enough for us to be able to plan and announce your stay.

International Week at the Faculty of Social Science

An International Week is organized yearly at the Faculty of Social Science. The employees of our partner universities are invited to enhance the existing and establish new international contacts, inform the students about exchange possibilities, make the teaching at the faculty more international and diverse.

 

The International Week 2017 takes place on November 20-24th. Application is open until August 20th.
